The opening ceremony of the 42nd Catalan University Championships for the 2026–2027 academic year will take place on Tuesday 3 November at 13.00 in the Sala Clavé at La Unió Centre Cultural in Sant Cugat del Vallès.

This year's championships are organised by UIC, with Sant Cugat del Vallès serving as the host city, and will bring together students from the 12 Catalan universities.

The Catalan University Championships are the leading university sports competition in Catalonia and, since their first edition in 1986, have promoted participation in sport, the educational values of sport and a sense of community among university students.

The ceremony marks the beginning of a new edition of the competition, reinforcing UIC's commitment to university sport and its ties with Sant Cugat del Vallès.
