The Barcelona Campus is set to host Research Nexus 2026, an initiative of the Vice-Rectorate for Research, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer designed to highlight the value of research conducted by the scientific committee within our institution and create a space for connection and inspiration.

What does it involve?

· 9:30 h Arrival and attendee check-in  

· 10:00 h Welcome with Román Pérez Antoñanzas.  

· 10:30 h Roundtable discussion “Funding the Future” – We will talk about the key factors that make a project competitive and the direction funding calls are heading, with the following experts:  

               – Dipti Pandya. President of the European Association of Research Managers and Administrators (EARMA); Director of Research at University College Dublin (UCD)  

               – Cristina Borràs. International Area Director · AGAUR  

               – Almudena Carrero Escribano. Senior Manager for International Cooperation. Large Research Infrastructures Unit · CSIC  

· 11:30 h Speed networking. Thematic roundtables with questions designed to encourage collaboration across disciplines.  

· 12:30 h Lecture with Iñaki Permanyer, ICREA Research Professor at the Centre for Demographic Studies (CED), recipient of Juan de la Cierva and Ramón y Cajal fellowships, as well as funding from the European Research Council (ERC), including the Starting Grant EQUALIZE and the Consolidator Grant HEALIN.  

· 13:45 h Closing remarks and surprises, including the raffle of a digital tablet among all attendees.  

· 14:00 h Farewell cocktail reception.
