UIC Humanities Forum | A New Perspective on Catholic Cinema: The Case of San Paolo Film
As part of the UIC Humanities Forum 2026-2027, the Faculty of Humanities is organising the lecture "A New Perspective on Catholic Cinema: The Case of San Paolo Film", delivered by Sabrina Negri, associate professor at the Università degli Studi di Torino and holder of a PhD from the University of Chicago.
The session will offer a historical and cultural exploration of the cinematic project of the Society of St Paul, with particular attention to the role of the Daughters of St Paul and women's work within the congregation, from production and laboratory work to distribution and film criticism.
The UIC Humanities Forum is an initiative that promotes spaces for reflection, dialogue and public engagement around contemporary cultural and humanities issues.
The lecture is aimed particularly at UIC students, PDI and PAS, as well as anyone interested in cinema, cultural history, religion and gender studies.
