Vertical Workshop 2025 | Wind Turbine Architecture
From 2 to 5 September, UIC Barcelona School of Architecture will host a new edition of the Vertical Workshop, one of the most important academic events of the year. This edition presents a proposal that brings together architecture, sustainability, and health: participants will design architectural prototypes to repurpose decommissioned wind turbine blades.
Over the course of an intense week of collaborative work, second- to fifth-year Architecture students will share challenges and learning experiences in multidisciplinary teams, supported by faculty members and guest professionals. The activity will conclude with a public presentation of the projects and a final jury session with internationally renowned experts.
The Vertical Workshop is an immersive experience that fosters teamwork among Architecture students and boosts creativity and rapid problem-solving skills. It is a distinctive methodology of UIC Barcelona that sets its architectural education apart through intensive learning based on action, real-world context, and strong connections with the professional sphere
