Objectives
The main objective of this postgraduate degree is to achieve excellence in basic competences and a professional specialisation in perioperative nursing.
Specific objectives
- To broaden and develop your knowledge and skills in order to offer comprehensive and good quality care to surgical patients.
- To achieve advanced professional competences in the surgical area.
- To train the largest number of perioperatory professionals in excellence.

Presentation
The evolution of surgery, anaesthesia, resuscitation and pain therapy along with the implementation of new technologies mean that the surgical field is a highly complex area. Nursing professionals must respond to this new situation based on solid, specific and continuing education in order to carry out their work in this area.
This Postgraduate Degree in Advanced Nursing, taught in conjunction with the Hospital General de Catalunya (HGC), will help you to achieve the necessary and essential competences to work as a perioperative nurse.

180 contact hours (150 hours in the operating theatre and 30 hours in anaesthesia)

Throughout this programme, you will have access to our Comprehensive Centre for Advanced Simulation, where you will benefit from extensive practical content and simulations. In addition, our university is integrated within the General University Hospital of Catalonia, where you will be able to undertake clinical placements.

Admission Criteria
Nursing graduates
Applications from students coming from other degree programmes in the field of health sciences will be considered, although these students will need to take bridging courses if the Admissions Committee deems it necessary. Applications from students coming from other access routes will also be considered, according to the regulations and the degree programme they studied.
It is essential to be registered and have the approval of thetitle in cases of foreing students.
Reservation and enrolment
Once the admission process is over, students will make a payment of 20% of the full cost of the postgraduate degree, in order to reserve their place on the course, after they have received an official letter of admission.
Once the enrolment is complete, students will make a single payment of the remaining 80%.
