Arquia Banca and UIC Barcelona to promote academic and scientific projects

The partnership, sealed between the two institutions, will enable the development of joint training, research and knowledge transfer initiatives, particularly in architecture

UIC Barcelona and Arquia Banca, an entity specialising in financial services for professionals, have entered into a framework cooperation agreement to strengthen collaboration between the University and the specialised financial sector. The agreement will promote joint initiatives in training, research and knowledge transfer, as well as academic activities of mutual interest.

The signing ceremony took place on 24 February at UIC Barcelona, with the rector, Alfonso Méndiz, and Arquia’s director of Business Development, Ágata Viloca, in attendance. Also present at the event were the director of the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture, Íñigo Ugalde; the director of Corporate Development at UIC Barcelona, Juan Pablo Garrido; and José Manuel Aguado Ramos, head of Professional Segments at Arquia.

During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the importance of strengthening cooperation between universities and the business sector, with the aim of creating new learning and professional development opportunities for students. In this regard, the director of the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture, Íñigo Ugalde, stressed that this agreement will help promote projects that connect academic training to the architecture industry’s real-world challenges and enrich students’ educational experience.

The agreement outlines multiple forms of cooperation between the two institutions, including the launch of joint research programmes, the development of specific projects, the organisation of courses, seminars and conferences and collaborative academic publishing. The agreement also provides for the recognition of credits for training activities led by Arquia that are of interest to students at the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture.

This initiative is part of UIC Barcelona’s strategy to promote partnerships with institutions and companies that help foster innovation, applied research and the training of professionals prepared to meet the challenges of the professional and social environment. Through this type of agreement, the University continues to strengthen its ties with the professional sector and promote initiatives that benefit the university community.
