The Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences adopts the commercial brand UIC School of Management

UIC Barcelona has approved the use of the commercial name UIC School of Management as the new brand identity for communicating its Business Administration and Management programmes

The decision, approved by the Board of Governors and the Board of Trustees, retains the legal name Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, while the new brand identity is already being implemented across the University’s various channels.

This change reflects the Faculty’s efforts to strengthen its academic positioning and international outlook, aligning its identity with standards in the field of business education, where names such as “Business School” or “School of Management” are widely established.

Until now, the term “Faculty” presented certain limitations in international contexts, both due to the interpretation of the word – more commonly associated with academic staff – and its less frequent use within global sector communications. In this regard, adopting a more recognisable brand helps clearly identify its course selection and strengthens its position in a competitive institutional landscape.

International accreditations

This initiative is also part of the Faculty’s ongoing efforts to secure prestigious international accreditations.

In the words of the Faculty Dean, Toni Mora, “this name will improve the clarity and positioning of our Business Administration and Management programmes in international settings.”

More than just a change in name, the rebranding reflects UIC Barcelona’s commitment to academic excellence, internationalisation and continuous improvement, consolidating its vision of management education that addresses global challenges.
