Frederic Borràs, member of the CAU, receives the ACCID Award for Professional Achievement
The distinction recognises his outstanding career in auditing, accounting and business management
Frederic Borràs, a member of the University Advisory Council (CAU) of the University and chair of its Social Sciences Committee, has been awarded the ACCID Award for Professional Achievement. This distinction is conferred by the Catalan Association of Accounting and Management (ACCID) on individuals or organisations that have made a significant contribution to the development of accounting and business management.
The award was presented on 29 May, within the framework of the 9th ACCID Conference, during the twenty-third edition of the ACCID Awards.
Born in Tortosa in 1951, Frederic Borràs has developed an extensive career at both national and international level. He has served as president of the Association of Chartered Accountants of Catalonia – of which he is currently honorary president – and as a member of the Governing Board of the Spanish Institute of Chartered Accountants. He was also managing partner for Catalonia at KPMG, an international audit and advisory firm, where he served on the boards of directors of its various entities in Spain.
Internationally, he was a member of the Transnational Auditors Committee of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), appointed by the leading international audit firms.
He holds a PhD and a degree in Economics and Business Studies from the University of Barcelona, where he taught for over thirty years. He also holds an MBA from ESADE Business School and furthered his studies in finance at Drexel University (United States). He is currently a member of the Royal European Academy of Doctors, amongst other institutions.
This recognition highlights a career defined by leadership, professional rigour and a strong commitment to academic and business excellence – values he brings to UIC Barcelona as a member of its University Advisory Board.
The University Advisory Board currently comprises 95 members across ten working committees. Through their expertise and commitment, this body supports and drives the strategic development of UIC Barcelona, providing specialist advice and promoting the University within their respective spheres of influence. Their vision and support continue to be essential in strengthening the institution’s educational mission, enhancing its social impact and advancing its commitment to academic excellence and the holistic education of its students.
