UIC Barcelona takes part in the UN Climate Change Conference COP25
Representatives of UIC Barcelona’s Office of Sustainability travelled to Madrid to showcase the activities carried out in the 11th Sustainability Transversal Workshop in the Green Zone
On 2 December UIC Barcelona had the opportunity to participate in the 25th Conference of Parties (COP25) on Climate Change and present the initiative headed up by our Office of Sustainability.
Silvia Albareda, Director of Sustainability for UIC Barcelona, and the student Carla Vidal were responsible for presenting the 11th Sustainability Transversal Workshop, selected by the Ministry for Ecological Transition as innovative activity in sustainability, from among over 1,500 projects submitted. Entitled, “Climate Action at the University and from the University", the objective of this year's workshop was "to invite reflection on the role of society in climate change, the effects it has on health and the everyday measures we find to mitigate it," explained Albareda.
The COP25 held in Madrid brought together representatives of the 197 parties that make up the treaty on climate change with the objective of moving toward the implementation of the agreements identified under the United Nations Framework Convention.
