Ismael Ávila is Head of Tech Transfer at Hospital del Mar Research Institute. He is biotechnologist with a degree in Bioprocessengineering from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Along with being a faculty for certification in microbiology and
biotechnology, he has been Communications Officer, Vice President and President of the Young European Biotech Network (YEBN),
where he managed an international team of 15 people from the Executive Board perspective for three years. Also he is Coordinator
for Spain of the EIT Health Innovators Community. He specialized in company management with IESE short courses, covering the
areas of team management, financing and marketing. He is as well entrepreneur in healthcare innovation, driving healthcare projects
from the idea to their tech transfer.
