Universitat Internacional de Catalunya

Development Cooperation for Global Justice

Development cooperation encompasses actions aimed at promoting comprehensive and sustainable human development, reducing poverty, and safeguarding human rights for everyone in a more equitable and just society. Universitat Internacional de Catalunya is committed to this effort, prioritising horizontal collaboration, mutual interest and transparency to build transformative partnerships between different countries and stakeholders.

Our approach is grounded in solidarity, equity and inclusion, the defence and promotion of human rights, climate action, biodiversity conservation and the promotion of peaceful solutions to conflicts. It actively involves both the university community and local communities of developing countries or the Global South.

We propose a cooperation model that fosters social change in the areas of intervention, prioritising the active participation of beneficiaries in the autonomous and self-sustaining development of projects that promote empowerment of communities.

The University undertakes development cooperation initiatives through teaching, research, material contributions in areas of need, and knowledge transfer.
