L’Escola de Doctorat reconeix la trajectòria acadèmica dels investigadors que han culminat el doctorat durant el curs 2025

The event, held on 4 December on the Barcelona Campus, brought together doctoral students, directors and academic representatives from the four doctoral programmes at UIC Barcelona and offered a full immersion into research culture at the University

The Director of the Doctoral School took part in a roundtable discussion on the challenges and opportunities posed by artificial intelligence (AI) in doctoral training and supervision.

This was demonstrated by two studies presented by UIC Barcelona doctoral student Daniel Casanova and Dr Josep M. Badia, lecturer in the University’s Department of Medicine, at the recent annual congress of the Surgical Infection Society Europe (SIS-E).

The doctoral student in Health Sciences has won the internal “Present Your Thesis in 4 Minutes” competition held as part of the latest edition of UIC Barcelona’s PhDay. David Sánchez will go on to represent the University in the inter-university final of the contest organised by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRI).

Promoted by the University’s Doctoral School, the conference on the Barcelona Campus brought the doctoral community together to share their research, connect with fellow researchers and take part in different networking and scientific dissemination activities

Munir Mohamed, a medical resident at the Consorci Sanitari de Terrassa (CST), a teaching hospital affiliated with UIC Barcelona, is currently completing his doctoral thesis, which presents an innovative training project based on the use of a video game.

On International Women’s Day, which is celebrated on 8 March every year, we spoke to women in academia with positions of responsibility at UIC Barcelona and asked them to share some thoughts on the importance of female leadership at the University and the future of our students, the leaders of tomorrow.

Accompanied by the academic community, family and friends, the new doctors received their caps in a formal ceremony presided over by the rector, where five extraordinary doctoral prizes were awarded, and the university anthem was played for the first time in a public ceremony.
