Ànima Choir

The Ànima choir is an initiative open to everyone in the university community: Students, alumni, PAS and PDI staff members.

Come and discover your potential. No need to know how to sing... You will learn!

Coordinated by

The choir is directed by Luis Meseguer, composer and professional musician.

Luis began in the world of music at the age of 9, studying piano at the Salvador Ribas Academy of Music. In 2012, he enrolled in the Municipal Music Conservatory of Barcelona, where he earned the Professional Degree of Piano and obtained an Honourable Mention in Composition and Piano. Since 2018, he is studying the Degree of Music Composition at the Higher School of Music of Catalonia (ESMUC). He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual Communication from UIC Barcelona.

Sant Cugat Campus

Choir

Choir is an initiative promoted by students on the Sant Cugat Campus and is open to anyone in the university community.

Coordinated by

Gemma Mateo, singer and actress formed in Barcelona. Graduated in Psychology by the UB, specialized with a Master in emotional education, she develops her project in vocal pedagogy, emotional health, singing and voice, thus joining her two passions, emotions and the instrument of the voice.

Nowadays she combines her pedagogic project VOICEHEART, with several artistic projects such as "Barcelona Gospel Messengers", member since 5 years ago, and previously "Deudeveu, Vocal Group" winners of the first edition of "Oh Happy Day, Tv3". Both projects have allowed her to perform in festivals such as Festival Grec de Barcelona, Festival de Cap Roig, Festival de Música Jazz de Barcelona, and to perform in theaters such as Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, Auditori de Barcelona, among others.

• The choir will perform at Christmas, during Cultural Week and End of Year Party.

Experience Campus

Choir

Coordinated by

Directed by Oleguer Alguersuari, music director with extensive experience.

He directed numerous works at the Teatre del Sol between 2001 and 2019, such as Fame, the Musical, Working, The Comedy of Errors and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He also was managing director and musical director of the Grupo Palestra with Godspell, the musical between 2019 and 2020. Finally, since 2019 to present he is in charge of choral direction and artistic and musical direction for the Asociació Innovart Scennic.
