International volunteering

Organised by: The Col·legi Major Bonaigua is a female residence that offers rooms and full board, and also provides academic, cultural, sports, solidarity, human and Christian training activities from a holistic view of the individual.

Objective: In the city of Recife, Brazil. In the mornings home visits will be made to get to know the needs of the inhabitants of the area, collecting relevant data for the local government in alignment with the country’s Department of Education. There will also be collaboration in a children's camp where educational, health and recreational activities and workshops will be held.

Dates: 12 to 28 July.

Organised by: The Gausac Cultural Association is a university centre for girls that offers academic, cultural, sports, solidarity and human and Christian educational activities, from a holistic view of the individual.

Objective: The volunteers will assist in the construction of two primary classrooms for children in a town near Mombasa. They will also collaborate in the education of children during the regular school calendar of the month of July, and will organise activities and games. Volunteers will also hold training workshops on both public health and maternal and child health.

Dates: 10 to 24 July.

Estimated cost: €1,300 per person.

Organised by: The ADESCI Association is a non-profit organisation born in 2006 as an initiative of a group of young people who decided to play their part in improving the well-being of people who need it.

Objective: Live in the village of Emorogi and cooperate with specialists in the different areas of the region: Help with construction; assist the doctor in basic health activities; direct and develop various educational, entertainment and sports activities for children in the camp.

Organised by: The Montblanc Foundation is a private, cultural welfare foundation, formed by a group of Catalan professionals united by the desire to promote human development with special emphasis on the protection of children and youth. The Col·legi Major Bonaigua is a female residence that offers rooms and full board and provides academic, cultural, sports, solidarity, human and Christian training activities from a holistic view of the individual.

Objective: Walk the last stages of the Camino de Santiago, from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela, to raise funds for the Montblanc Foundation 'Camperoles' project in the Congo. For each kilometre travelled there will be sponsors who will contribute money for the project. The volunteers who participate will be able to go to the Congo the following summer to see the fruits of this project and continue collaborating.

Dates: 16 to 23 July.
