Presentació
Digital transformation is not simply about adopting new technologies. It is about understanding how an organisation can use them to improve its decisions, processes, customer relationships and competitive position. This course provides an applied business perspective on technology, beginning with people, how processes work and the information required before tools are selected.
The course examines the role of information systems and enterprise applications such as ERP, MRP and CRM, together with data architecture, integration and information flows across the organisation. It also addresses business intelligence, data analytics, automation and artificial intelligence, distinguishing when these solutions create value and when simpler alternatives may be more appropriate. The course also explores the digital economy, e-commerce, platforms, digital channels, emerging technologies and the fundamental principles of cybersecurity, privacy and the responsible use of technology.
Through business cases, participatory activities and a team project, students will learn to diagnose real problems, compare alternatives, justify investments, assess risks, manage implementation and defend a coherent Digital Transformation Plan before an executive audience.

Metodologia i activitats formatives
Modalitat totalment presencial a l'aula
The course will combine the explanation of managerial concepts and frameworks with their application to business situations. Sessions will adopt a practical and participatory approach, relating technology to organisational problems, processes, decisions and objectives. Students will be expected to analyse information, discuss alternatives and formulate justified recommendations, considering business value as well as people, implementation and the associated risks.
Where appropriate, a flipped-classroom methodology will be used through the advance preparation of cases, readings, videos or technical notes. Classroom work will include discussions, individual and group activities, business case analysis, short presentations, simulated meetings and reviews of the different project milestones.
Throughout the course, students will work in groups to develop a Digital Transformation Plan for a company or organisation facing a specific digital challenge. The project will progressively integrate the course content, from defining the problem and analysing processes to evaluating alternatives, justifying the expected value and proposing a viable implementation.
