Side Event - Optimizing Mobility & Resources through Public Smart-Tech

Smart City Expo World Congress - Fira Barcelona Gran Via a l'Hospitalet de Llobregat (Conference Room 1.3)

 

UIC Barcelona with the City Council of Calonge and Sant Antoni is organising a parallel event with the Smart City Expo World Congress, which will take place 17 November at the Gran Via - Fira de Barcelona in L’Hospitalet.

Under the title “Optimising Mobility & Resources through Public Smart-Tech,” a space for debate on the new technological paradigm between the public and private domains that we find in urban areas, with the aim of discussing the present and the future of this area. The event will present specific cases and innovative proposals, such as the Municipality of Calonge and Sant Antoni, for example, which has become a paradigm of the technical management of urban density, and its implications for the optimising municipal resources through smart-tech technology. Several success stories and projects from the smart cities sector will also be presented internationally, and the winning projects from the 1st edition of the Smart Design Business Challenge held at the Castell de Calonge on 8 October will be announced.

10.00 a.m. Introduction Dª Maria Isabel Gabarró, director of the Master’s Degree in Architecture & Design Business Management at UIC Barcelona.

10.15 a.m. Paraules Institucionals  – Jordi Soler i Casals, mayor of Calonge i Sant Antoni, and Arturo Prades Martínez, first deputy mayor.

10.30 a.m. Presentation of “A Safe & Smart Town”: Ivan València, city engineer and head of the Activities and Sustainability Unit of Calonge i Sant Antoni.

11.00 a.m. Introduction of winning projects: Pau Amigó, adjunt lecturer at UIC Barcelona and Ricard Casalins, RACC Mobility Institute.

11.05 a.m. Winning projects of the ‘Sustainable Mobility for a Safe & Smart Town’ sessions: 

-BioEng Girls: Paula Oliva and Carla Pou i Miralbell.
-The P Team: Pedro Gil and Philipp Breuer.
-Team Chervi: Kwok Ying Ying and Vivian Tito Rudge.

11.30 a.m. Introduction of the Hyundai Motors case: Daniel Oh, adjunct lecturer in the Division of Smart Cities at the University of Korea and special advisor at WeGo.

11.40 a.m. Hyundai Motors Case per Hyundai Autoever.

12.10 p.m. Presentation of the Aguaduna project: Manuel Matutes, partner and co-founder of the project and KEI Resilient Cities, and Karim Masri, head of innovation at KEI Resilient Cities.

12.15 p.m. Presentation of the Aguaduna project. 

12.45 h Conclusions and closing address.
