A certificate is a sequence of courses related to a specialized field or topic. Certificate programs are not degree programs; however, many students who have bachelor’s and master’s degrees enroll in certificate programs to advance or change their careers. 

UCLA Extension certificate programs are usually taught by working professionals who are experts in their fields; programs offer a practical, real-world approach to each field of study The majority of these specialisation programmes offer you the chance to undertake curricular internships in the United States whilst studying on the course.

What’s more, in addition to gaining work experience in your area of study while still studying, you also have the option to stay and work in the country once the programme is over via a 12-month work permit (Optional Practical Training - OPT).
