UIC Barcelona among the top 5 universities in the field of Architecture, according to the CYD ranking
It is in 16th position out of 82 Spanish universities for its large number of high performance indicators, and in the field of Architecture it is in 5th position out of 36 Spanish universities
The Knowledge and Development Foundation (CYD) has published the results of the CYD 2025 Ranking. In the 12th edition, UIC Barcelona is in 16th position out of 82 Spanish universities for its large number of high performance indicators, and in the field of Architecture it is in 5th position out of 36 Spanish universities.
With regard to fields of knowledge, the CYD ranking has updated the results of courses in 11 STEM fields, among them that of Architecture.
UIC Barcelona has improved its results from the previous year in the field of Architecture, and stands out in the area of “International Outlook” for the number of high performance indicators that demonstrate the global perspective of the University. It has also improved in the areas of “Research” with improved results in “doctoral thesis” “post-doctorates” and “external research funding (raised)” with respect to the 9th edition.
In this 12th edition, the CYD ranking has presented results from 82 Spanish universities, 30 areas of knowledge and 3,454 degree programmes. Participating universities represent 93% of the 88 teaching bachelor’s degree courses that are included in the Register of Universities, Centres and Qualifications (RUCT). Of these universities, 48 are public (100% are represented) and 34 private (85% of the total). The CYD Foundation ranking is a tool that allows the quality of the Spanish university system to be measured and compared through the analysis of indicators, classified by performance groups and grouped into six areas: “Teaching and Learning”; “Research”; “Knowledge Transfer”; “International Outlook”; “Contribution to Regional Development” and “Employability”.

The objective of the UIC Barcelona Statistical Data and Rankings Office is to measure the performance of the different aspects of the University through data and evidence, allowing it to be visible both nationally and internationally through the social impact produced by rankings and listings.
