UIC Barcelona consolidates its position in the QS World University Rankings: Europe 2026

Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC Barcelona) once again appears in the QS World University Rankings: Europe 2026, one of the leading international university rankings. In this edition, 958 universities from 42 European countries were assessed, including 62 Spanish universities.

The results place UIC Barcelona in the 406–407 band in Europe, marking a significant improvement in its relative position. The University outperformed 57.7% of the European institutions analysed, up from 45.5% in the previous edition, reflecting a sustained upward trend within the European higher education landscape.

The ranking highlights several key indicators in which UIC Barcelona performed particularly well:

  • Faculty–Student Ratio: the University achieved an outstanding score of 99.6; improved its position; and currently ranks among the top 25 universities in Europe, testament to its personalised teaching model and strong commitment to academic quality.
  • Mobility and Internationalisation: UIC Barcelona performed particularly well in the indicators Inbound Exchange Students (98.2) and International Student Diversity (75.3), highlighting its international appeal and commitment to academic mobility.
  • Sustainability: an indicator drawn from the QS Sustainability Ranking, in which the University achieved a notable increase in its score (49.3) over the previous edition, in line with the institution's commitment to improving its social and environmental impact.

At national level, the QS WUR: Europe analysed 62 Spanish universities. Within this context, UIC Barcelona ranked among the top 10 universities in the following indicators: Faculty–Student Ratio (#1)International Student Diversity (#4)International Faculty Ratio (#7) and Inbound Exchange Students (#10).

These results confirm the impact of UIC Barcelona’s institutional strategy, which focuses on academic excellence, internationalisation, high-quality research and a comprehensive educational model geared towards employability and social commitment, in line with the leading international university rankings.

The Statistical Data and Rankings Office at UIC Barcelona aims to measure the University’s performance across its different dimensions through data and evidence, enhancing its visibility and positioning at both national and international level, and highlighting the social impact generated by global rankings and listings.
