Online Diploma in Paediatric Dentistry

Online Diploma in Paediatric Dentistry cmadico
930192304
Anglès

Course Presentation

Dentistry professionals are increasingly aware of the importance of Paediatric Dentistry. This specialty focuses on the care and treatment of children’s teeth from infancy to adolescence.

Knowledge of Paediatric Dentistry is essential for any dentist. It ensures proper care for primary teeth and supports the healthy development of permanent teeth.

Primary teeth are critical not only for proper chewing, speech development, and aesthetics. They also play a key role in maintaining space for the arrival of permanent teeth. The health of primary dentition is crucial in ensuring a smooth transition to permanent dentition, free from complications.

Paediatric Dentistry also involves managing dental trauma and addressing child-specific dental diseases. Early intervention in primary dentition can prevent complex dental issues later, contributing to better overall health and quality of life for children.

Furthermore, behaviour management is a fundamental aspect of Paediatric Dentistry. This area is designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and skills required to address the specific needs of children effectively.

This course is essential for any dentist who wishes to specialise in or update their expertise in Paediatric Dentistry. Through a comprehensive, evidence-based approach, it prepares students to deliver high-quality dental care to children.

Presentation

NOR is a type of treatment with a philosophy that has been clinically demonstrated and helps us to prevent, treat and cure pathologies found in children starting from their detection, without delay, rapidly and simply, taking the child as a whole into account while introducing the Wellness Approach concept.

Often there is a tendency to do complex and showy work, thinking that it is the best option.  We propose going back to the root of pathologies through knowledge of normality and from there, based on the most scientific outlook, create a plan for prevention, treatment and results.

Assessment method

An online self-assessment test will be carried out at the end of the course so that students can assess the  achievement  of their personal goals and their knowledge of the content of the course.

Theoretical-Practical Course On Mini-Screws and Skeletal Anchorage

Theoretical-Practical Course On Mini-Screws and Skeletal Anchorage Cris Helo
930192304
Spanish

Course Presentation

Miniscrews and, overall, all skeletal anchorage are widely used bone anchorage elements in current orthodontic practice. Their clinical application ranges from situations of lack of anchorage, orthodontic movements where conventional anchorage does not suffice, or orthopedic treatments that until very recently were only indicated in children and can now be applied to adolescents and adults. For this reason, the routine use of mini-screws and skeletal anchorage significantly broadens treatment possibilities, and their knowledge is essential in clinical practice.

There is a before and after in the field of Orthodontics with the advent and routine use of mini-screws and skeletal anchorage. Thus, the objective of the XIII edition of the theoretical-practical course on mini-screws and skeletal anchorage conducted by the Orthodontics Area is to provide comprehensive knowledge from A to Z in skeletal anchorage, enabling its immediate use in clinical practice.

Assessment method:

An online self-assessment test will be carried out at the end of the course so that students can assess the  achievement  of their personal goals and their knowledge of the content of the course.

Course objectives

  • Provide a review of anatomy and oral pathology and familiarise the student with interpreting tomographic images, for planning surgeries as well as diagnosing the most common pathologies.
  • Highlight the radiographic signs indicating benign and malignant disease.
  • Teach student to recognise the most common lesions, their radiographic characteristics and their possible differential diagnoses.

Skills to be acquired by students

  • Detect pathology on CBCT scans that is not visible in conventional radiology.
  • Differentiate the normal from the pathological, therapeutic and iatrogenic.
  • Protocolise radiological studies to obtain the most information.
