Conference on urban regeneration at UIC Barcelona with Architect Carmen Andriani
Carmen Andriani, architect and tenured professor of Projects and Urban Planning at the University of Genoa, gave a talk on “Regeneration of the existing / Border Heritage” on 10 November at UIC Barcelona. During her lecture, the professor discussed coastal regeneration, showing some of the projects developed in the Costal Design Lab, permanent laboratory of the Master's Degree in Architecture, promoted and directed by Carmen Andriani since 2014.

500 runners and 150 volunteers fill the trails of Collserola in the Antena Solidària Race
The 6th edition of the Antena Solidària Trail Pedralbes solidarity race took place on Sunday morning, 13 November, starting from the Pedralbes Monastery Square, and going through the trails of Collserola. More than 500 athletes and 150 volunteers ran and worked to make a direct impact on the education of children in Ghana and Barcelona.

Miquel Lacasta, 2021 National Urban Planning Award: “Workplaces should have showers and space for bicycles”
The UIC Barcelona School of Architecture lecturer and 2021 National Urban Planning Award for the Agrocity Gagarine Truillo in Ivry-sur-Seine from the Archikubik studio, Miquel Lacasta i Codorniu, said that all workplaces should have showers and bicycle parking places.Coinciding with World Urban Planning Day, which is celebrated today, 8 November, Lacasta recalled that “in Barcelona the weather is exceptional and it is still amazing that bicycles are not used even more.”

Thursday, 27 October, some forty students of the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture, accompanied by people with functional diversity from different entities and representatives from the Ciutat Vella and Eixample districts took to the street in wheelchairs, blindfolds and assistive canes to walk in the shoes of people with functional diversity, as part of the subject Accessibility at UIC Barcelona School of Architecture.

Daniel Villacís: First student to receive the Josep Torrella Architecture Grant
Daniel Villacís, fifth-year student of the Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture at UIC Barcelona, is the first student from UIC Barcelona School of Architecture to receive the Josep Torrella Architecture Grant. Recently, Daniel was able to visit the facilities of Torrella Ingeniería-Arquitectura, where he will have his first professional experience this summer once he has finished his university studies.

University students present innovative business ideas to promote sustainable mobility in Calonge
On 7 and 8 October, Calonge Castle was the spotlight for the sessions on “Sustainable Mobility for Safe & Smart Town,” organised jointly by UIC Barcelona and the City Council of Calonge and Sant Antoni. These were sessions in which students from various universities had the opportunity to present innovative projects and ideas around sustainable mobility that solve a real challenge for Calonge.

Over two thousand people celebrate the opening of UIC Barcelona’s 25th anniversary year with a mass at the Sagrada Família
The mass was celebrated by Ignasi Font, regional vicar of Opus Dei in Catalonia and Andorra, who was accompanied by twenty clergy members. The ceremony inaugurated the “silver anniversary” celebrations of the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya.
