"Summer holidays" Photography Competition

• Registration period: 9–30 September 2026

The competition is open to all members of the UIC Barcelona university community. Entries must be submitted on an individual basis, and each participant may submit up to three photographs.

The competition comprises two categories:

1. General category

This category invites students and members of the university community to capture, through photography, the moments, landscapes, people, details and experiences that define their summer holidays. The aim is to share a personal and creative perspective on summer, highlighting the wide variety of experiences and ways in which people enjoy the season.

Photographs may portray any aspect of the summer holidays, including travel, short breaks, time spent with friends or family, nature, culture, relaxation, adventure, or those everyday moments that make summer special.

2. #SocialDoers category

This category aims to showcase students' volunteering experiences and social engagement during the summer. Students who have taken part in international cooperation projects, local volunteering initiatives or activities with a positive social impact are invited to submit photographs reflecting their experience.

In addition to the photograph, participants must submit a short original text, either narrative or poetic, describing their personal experience and the emotions, insights or reflections that arose from their volunteering activity. The text must be directly linked to the photograph submitted and will form part of the judging process.

Both photographs and texts must respect individuals' rights to honour, privacy and image, as well as the values and principles of UIC.

Register using this form, specifying the category in which you wish to participate. Once you have submitted your photograph titles, send them to cultura@uic.es or solidaridad@uic.es, as appropriate.

If participating in the #Social Doers category, you must also attach the requested original text (in PDF or Word format), identified with the same title as the photograph and the author's name. The volunteering project referred to must have been carried out during the summer of 2026.

Images should be submitted using the following file name format:

• firstname_surname_title
• JPEG format
• Minimum resolution of 1,200 pixels

• Each participant may submit a maximum of three photographs in total, distributed across the two categories as they wish. The same photograph may not be entered in both categories.
• All photographs must have been taken by the participant during the summer of 2026.
• The use of generative AI is not permitted, nor is any manipulation that adds, removes or alters elements of the original scene. Only basic photographic adjustments are allowed, including exposure, colour, contrast and cropping.
• Finalists and prize winners must retain the original camera file and provide it if requested. The judging panel reserves the right to carry out random checks to verify authorship and authenticity.

Any falsification of authorship, submission of photographs taken by another person, or use of AI will result in disqualification and, where applicable, forfeiture of the prize.

Two prizes of €100, in the form of a voucher redeemable at FNAC stores, will be awarded to one participant from the general category at each campus.

In addition, another prize of €100, also in the form of a voucher redeemable at FNAC stores, will be awarded from among the participants in the #SocialDoers category.

Only one prize will be awarded per person.
