Literary Competition

The literature competition is a short story and poetry contest which has been held at UIC Barcelona every year since 1998.

  • Short story (maximum 1,000 words)
  • Poetry

Author

All members of the UIC Barcelona university community can submit individually (one work per person can be submitted in each category).

Theme

The theme is free. One work can be submitted per person and per category, that is, a maximum of two works in total.

Catalan or Spanish

Deadline

From 4 to 25 March 2026.

Inscription

Fill out this form to register and attach your work. When you attach your work, send us a quote of what you have written: the one you like the most, the one that best represents your work, the one you want.

Presentation

To send us the work, send it to cultura@uic.es. The format must be:

  • Word
  • Times 12. Interlined 1,5
  • Name of the document: title of the work.

* If any of the above-mentioned information is missing or any of the requirements are not met, the photographs will be automatically disqualified.

Jury

The jury will be made up of experts in the field, who will evaluate the works presented and award the prize, according to their criteria, to the best compositions. However, the jury reserves the right to declare the award void if the quality of the works is not good enough. The jury's decision cannot be appealed and no more than one prize will be awarded per participant.

Prize

A prize valued at €100 will be awarded to spend at Fnac, both in the short story and poetry categories.

The winning work will be announced during Cultural April. Participation in this contest implies acceptance of these rules.

Reproduction rights

Participants authorize without limitation of systems, media, or countries, the reproduction of their works without payment of rights. Likewise, they are responsible for any claim of their rights.

UIC Barcelona reserves the right to accept and publish the works presented.

The resolution that must be adopted for any incident not foreseen in these bases corresponds to UIC Barcelona, ​​which will resolve it with the best criteria, without any appeal being appropriate.

A total of 15 works were submitted: 10 prose works and 5 poems.

The jury has been formed by:

  • Guillem Cunill: Catalan Language and Literature PAS
  • Laura Trius: editor with a degree in Journalism and Humanities and a Master's degree in Digital Publishing
