The UIC Barcelona School of Architecture Graduates Can Work as Architects in the European Union

The UIC Barcelona School of Architecture is the only Catalan school of architecture and one of the five Spanish schools of architecture whose professional qualifications have been recognized after fulfilling all the European Union requirements of the Degree in Architecture.

Right after graduation, holders of the Degree in Architecture from the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture will be able to work as architects in any European Union country. They will also be able to work in any country with which a degree-recognition agreement is signed.

Previously, all Spanish holders of a degree in Architecture had to apply for recognition of their degree in the country where they wanted to work and each country had the right to request compensatory measures before the qualification would be recognized, such as additional training or an internship of up to three years.

The UIC Barcelona School of Architecture is the only Catalan school of architecture and one of the five schools of architecture in Spain (of a total of 30) that has qualified for this recognition. Before the Bologna Plan was implemented, the School of Architecture's Degree in Architecture was recognized in Europe. However, once the new plan came into effect, all universities had to go through the degree recognition process again.
