The Biomedicine Laboratory has a surface area of 340 m2 and hosts research groups from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences’ Department of Basic Sciences and the Bioengineering Institute of Technology.

It is fully appointed to ensure that research groups at UIC Barcelona can further develop their current lines of research. 

The laboratory features a microscopy room equipped with a Leica DM IRB confocal microscope and a NIKON Eclipse Ti semi-confocal microscope capable of performing videomicroscopy experiments. The facilities also include a BD FACSCalibur flow cytometer. 

The laboratory also has two culture rooms equipped with biosafety cabinets, Olympus inverted microscopes and all the equipment this type of facility requires. 

The facilities are also used for practicums by students from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and the Faculty of Dentistry on the Sant Cugat Campus.
