PhDay Fest

UIC Barcelona’s Doctoral School organizes the PhDay Fest 2026, which will take place on May 13th at Aula Jardí, Campus Barcelona, a full day dedicated to doctoral students.

The event aims to create a space for meeting, exchange, and reflection on the doctoral experience, focusing on the theme “Beyond the PhD.” Through a range of activities, it will promote interdisciplinary dialogue, increase the visibility of doctoral research, and explore diverse career paths and professional opportunities. This edition is also part of the international European Doctoral Day initiative, involving more than 68 European universities.

• 12:10 h – Roundtable: Bright futures beyond the PhD
• 13:00 h – Scientific poster competition
• 13:45 h – Networking lunch
• 15:00 h – Sessions with the Doctoral Academic Committees
• 16:00 h – Workshop: Dealing with impostor syndrome
• 16:40 h - Coffee break  ☕
• 17:00 h – Present your thesis in 4 minutes competition
• 18:45 h – Awards ceremony and closing

How can you participate?

PhDay 2026 Scientific Poster Competition

Aimed at UIC Barcelona doctoral students, this competition seeks to foster scientific dissemination and interdisciplinary knowledge exchange.

Registration and submission deadline: until April 21, 2026

“Present your thesis in 4 minutes” competition

Open to doctoral students from the second year onwards, this competition challenges participants to communicate their research in a brief and accessible format for a general audience.
