Artistic season Planning. Definition of value attributes to programme efficiently and sustainably (ASP) is a winning project of the Knowledge Industry Programme competitive call, in the Llavor category of the Agency for Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR) of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

ASP responds to the need to introduce a data-based approach in the cultural sector, favouring innovation, sustainability and excellence in the design of the management and programming of cultural institutions and companies.

Objective:

The project aims to develop software designed as a support resource in three key areas of cultural institutions and companies: planning and artistic programming, efficient and sustainable management, and public analysis and management. Based on the analysis of historical and real-time data, this software provides relevant information that allows the user to predict results and formulate strategies that contribute to the achievement of three values that are essential for the cultural sector in the present context: excellence, efficiency and sustainability.

Trajectory:

The project began in the Faculty of Humanities of the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya. Artistic Season Planning emerged from a doctoral thesis (by Dr Ursula Imbernon) and the project was carried out for a cultural institution during the years 2018-2020.

As a precedent in the field of research and projects, it is worth highlighting that several members of the team belong to the History, Architecture and Design Research Group (GRHAD) including the main researcher, the entrepreneurial scientist and some members of the culture team.

The influence of the Master’s Degree in Cultural Management is also important: the programme provides spaces for debate where researchers and professionals can exchange ideas and collaborate, thus enriching the development of the project.

Team:

The development of the project is carried out by a multidisciplinary team with experience in cultural management, artistic programming, data analysis and technological development, in collaboration with pioneering technological companies in the sector.
