Dr Mandy Deal’s main research interests are related to the fields of Second and Third Language Acquisition and ICLHE (Integrating Content and Language in Higher Education) with a particular focus on a Conversation Analytic approach to studying social interaction within these educational settings. She completed a research stay at the University of Neuchâtel in Switzerland with Dr Simona Pekarek-Doehler in 2015. She is currently carrying out research in interaction in foreign language classrooms.
