Presentation

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming clinical practice, biomedical research and healthcare decision-making processes. In periodontology and dentistry, new AI-based tools offer potential applications in diagnosis, treatment planning, prediction of clinical outcomes, and the analysis of scientific data.

This course aims to provide an up-to-date, critical and practical overview of the current and future applications of artificial intelligence in clinical dentistry and dental research, combining lectures, discussions and practical workshops led by national and international experts.

The activity is organised in collaboration with Dentaid, SEPA and Universitat Internacional de Catalunya.

Assessment method

An online self-assessment test will be carried out at the end of the course so that students can assess the  achievement  of their personal goals and their knowledge of the content of the course.

  • Understand current applications of artificial intelligence in dentistry and periodontology 
  • Analyse the opportunities and limitations of AI tools in clinical practice and research 
  • Review ethical, regulatory and scientific aspects associated with AI 
  • Explore predictive models applied to periodontology and implant dentistry 
  • Apply AI tools in clinical cases and practical scenarios 
  • Encourage critical thinking regarding the integration of AI into everyday clinical practice

Be in possession of a Bachelor's/Graduate's degree in Dentistry or Medicine (specialty in stomatology).
