Presentation
This is one of the first degrees officially recognized as a Master’s Degree in accordance with the criteria of the European Higher Education Area.
The master’s degree is a professionally oriented program designed to prepare individuals who are ready to take on the exciting challenge of promoting, organizing, and managing business projects—both in production and services—across any of their areas. It stands out for its strong practical focus, reflected in an extensive internship period in companies, as well as its marked international outlook, with a high number of international students.
Its design and the faculty who deliver it ensure that it meets the needs of today’s business environment, which operates in an international context and requires professionals with solid technical training and, at the same time, the human qualities needed to undertake projects and make decisions with rigor and responsibility.
The master’s degree is delivered on a full-time, on-campus basis over one academic year, divided into two semesters. The first period takes place at UIC Barcelona and consists of theoretical and practical classes (30 credits). During the second period, students complete company internships (18 credits), which may be carried out either in Spain or abroad. The program is completed with a Master’s Final Project (12 ECTS), consisting of original research work in the field of business management and production systems.
To obtain the degree, students must prepare and present a Master’s Final Project consisting of the study of a production process or service delivery process within a company (public or private). The project is defended before a panel composed of program faculty members.
This master’s degree is for you if…
- You hold a degree in Industrial Organization Engineering and wish to complement your technical profile with training in management.

Organisation
Work placement duration. Second semester
Based on the Bologna Process and the continuous evaluation of the subject, the work placements are broken down into three stages:
- The stage "prior" to the work placements: the aim of this stage is to provide students with the necessary information to search for and secure work experience or a job in a company, as well as sessions on how students can become incorporated into the world of work. This stage is considered to be a key stage in terms of students' professional future.
- The stage "during" the work placement: the university supervisor and the in-company supervisor have the objective of encouraging the development of the student's abilities and attitudes, while at the same time monitoring progress in terms of the functions and responsibilities taken on by the student within the company.
- The stage "subsequent" to the work placement: This stage requires the Work Placement Report to be written, evaluated by a jury made up of various lecturers from the Faculty of Economic and Social Science.
Regulations
The work placements are compulsory and will be undertaken in the second semester, and they will be full-time.
